bessandra
Hi One of mine is limping.. I really dont want to rush to the vet (£££££'s!) but if needs must, I certainly will. Theya re clumsy and throw themselves off steps, into the pool and such so I assume this can be quite common? I just dont want to leave her in pain - although she certainly seems very happy - swimming, trying to fly, eating, drinking etc. Rachel
Lesley
If she seems happy and is eating well and doing all the normal ducky things then I would just observe for a while. If she shows signs of being in pain then it may mean a trip to the Vet but it may all just settle down.
Guest
Ducks are prone to feet and leg problems can get callouses/sprains etc ..just try to keep them on a flatish area really but it sounds as though its still managing. In my vet experience not found too much success with ducks, but obviously if the duck is distressed then it will need to go, but doesnt sound that bad? Rest the duck if need be away from the steps if poss?? good luck indie glad they are doing well
