So my other half normally shuts them in at night - just walks up and shuts the Eglu door and that's sorted.... but tonight I said I would. So I went up 2 mins ago and went to shut the door - well, must have known it was me cos she shot straight out and daft followed, as she does.... so it's now almost 10pm and chickens are not in bed in the yet....

Hahaha yes, watch out for my chicken posts when we start a human family as well!!!!

A word of caution: if chickens show a reluctance to go in and roost, it may be because there is an infestation of red mites. Please check in the poop trays and every other spot where the mites might be hiding.

 

Pale combs and wattles, crouching, etc., are also signs. Mites can kill chickens so be very vigilant, even if you have an Eglu or Cube instead of a wooden coop.
