mr-ducky Posted July 29, 2009 Share Posted July 29, 2009 I see three 4-5 week old ducks swimming past me every day (I fish a lot). One of the ducks seems to be having a problem. It starts to swim backwards with its head under water as if it is having an involuntary fit. I have seen it do it on land as well. It goes backwards and falls around for a few seconds at a time. bessandra Posted July 30, 2009 Share Posted July 30, 2009 My friend had ducks and one of the ducklings did this - I think I am right in saying she had it put to sleep as it was quite distraught and obviously, awful to see. Guest Posted July 30, 2009 Share Posted July 30, 2009 sounds like it has an injury and it wont last unfortunately)...saying that a crow took the back of one of the mallard ducklings head and I really thought it would get infected and die..it was in a sorry state...it had a constant twitch thereafter but it made it & I always knew which adult duck it was as it had a big dent in its head....sounds like this one wont survive though..indie Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
