Strange almost aggressive behaviour

Recommended Posts

Hi

I've just been to put my guinea pigs in their run and one of them was really not keen on being caught. They were born in may so are still babies. She has always been a bit frisky but her behaviour seems to be getting worse. She has nipped me a couple of times in the past few weeks, not hurt just more of a small slight pinch.

Today however she ran up and down the hutch flicking her bottom at me, and at one point I think she tried to spray me with wee. I eventually caught her wearing gloves as I was worried she needed to be caught to show her I would not hurt her, plus I wanted her to get her exercise time on the garden. She was fine when I caught her and allowed me to stroke her gently, just making some quietish squeaks that she normally does when being held in my arms. I am now worrying that I have got to catch her to get her back into her hutch...

Any ideas or advice. I am quite concerned as I have bought them as pets for my children who are only 5yrs and 3yrs old. I don't want them developing fear of their pets.

Thanks in advance
