stellabystarlight
Hi I was wondering if anyone could help, Ive had my three girls since early Feb 09 and they were about 20 weeks when we got them, could they be coming into a moult? Matilda was badly pecked when we first got them and has had a bare bum for a while so its hard to tell if she is losing feathers, but Amber is looking a bit stragely around the neck and the bit between her wings and tail, on top. Olivia has had several soft shelled eggs but their diet hasnt changed and they have oyster shell grit and free range all day. Also their egg production has gone done recently. All the signs say its a moult but no hugh loss of feathers and I thought they were a bit young to have their first moult. Any advice please. Ain't Nobody Here
I might be inclined to look for other causes . Have you wormed them recently and checked for lice/mites? (Only one of my girls has ever moulted - it's happening now - and they are just over 2 years old.)
