4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Mabel (a Bluebelle) laid her first egg this morning and I've only had her for 2 days. Although she is only supposed to be 18 weeks like my other 3 girls, I think she may be older as she has a redder comb than the others . I thought they didn't start laying until about 20 weeks?? Anyway, I am chuffed to bits with her She spent about half an hour in the nesting box laying the egg. Is this usual? I don't know what I was expecting but it seems a long time? Any advice?

I don't think 30 mins is a particularly long time to be laying an egg. She was probably getting comfy first

I wish my hens would hurry up and lay an because on monday I 'm going away on holiday and I don 't want to miss it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got our first egg today too- let them out and there it was, not laid in the nest box, just on floor of the coop. Bit soft but a nice double yolker
