Rubyismyduck Posted September 13, 2009 Share Posted September 13, 2009 my 2 mallard drakes are in an enclosiour and dont go to bed till after i do and i was thinking about free ranging them and i have 2 questions: 1.will they come back to there house 2. will the fox come in thier house. Guest Posted September 13, 2009 Share Posted September 13, 2009 Usually Ducks need to be herded into their housing, unusual for them to put themselves to bed! So I found once dusk came it was harder to get them in. I use to use food tray in the house to entice them. And yes the Fox will kill your ducks. TheChookKeeper Posted September 15, 2009 Share Posted September 15, 2009 About 2 days after I got my first 2 ducks, they put themselves to bed religiously about 10 minutes before I decided they needed to. That lasted all of about a week, then apparently, some other duck told them they needn't bother, and so now come darkness, they huddle in the middle of my garden and start quacking at eachother...
