sambee
At the moment, I have a fluffy lionhead called Herb, but he is currently living all alone, and I know this is unfair for any social animal, his behaviour is beginning to change aswell from being a kind gentle rabbit to one with anger problems or fear so I know I really need to get him a friend. However he is unneutered and I am moving into new accomodation in a couple of weeks with little money to spare to get this done. I am aware I may get the argument I am being an irresponsible owner if I can't afford bills like that, but I am asking for solutions as I love animals and I know Herb is clearly suffering living in solitude. I am not here for criticism but help. Although I don't want to offend you with this, as I know these forums are filled with lovely people, I just get bad reception else where. So what are my options or am I looking only at adoption? x
bigmommasally
Hi Sambee I really don't think there is much choice, as you say he is probably in need of a friend and for that he needs to be neutured. Neutering doesn't cost alot, I only paid £35 to have Penny spayed at my local Medivet Could you perhaps have afford to have him neutured now and get a friend later when you can afford the cost of a second rabbit. Neuturing might settle him a bit and if you give him lots of extra attention he may be happier for a while. Have you tried talking to a rabbit rescue they may have other solutions. Sorry I haven't got a magic wand, its horrible when finances get in the way of doing the best for our pets. I hope you find a happy solution for both you and Herb.
