Cleaning the Cube is Easy!

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to say I've given the Cube its first clean, even though it has only been 4 days. I had been shown how to do it, but was still extremely impressed by how easy a Cube is to clean. It literally took minutes to empty the poo trays (I do this most days), then hose down the trays, roosting bars, divider, nest box and base and sides of the Cube. I then sprayed it with Poultry Shield, and have left it open to dry before replacing the bedding in the nest box and the other parts.

The chickens are still in the run, but I just shut the Cube door as Megan already knows that she can get out once I open the roof :) So you can do this even with the chickens in the run.

I would definitely recommend the Cube simply on the basis of its ease of cleaning and maintenance. For anybody wavering, either about keeping chickens, or about getting a Cube, I'd say go for it! People have been so impressed when they've visited our chickens over the last few days, and I continue to be impressed.
