Beehaus Modifications fitted

Recommended Posts

Omlet have been sending out some mods to help the beehaus.

They have been

1 Strengthening bars for the Varroa inspection tray (NB this also could do with a MOD to stop it blowing off from the wind)

2 Small end stops to keep the bunggy cord in place for the roof.

3 Sponge that the bees to not like to eat to replace the stuff they have eaten and thus they made their own entrances

4 A metal bar to strengthen up the mesh floor and sagging and gain to stop bees gaining access to the other side

All fitted in less than 15 minutes, and instantly stopped the bees, lets see if they eat it?

In answer to your NB in point 1, my husband has modified the inspection tray on my Beehaus so it does not blow out. (we were also having trouble with this). He took two more edge strips, the kind you put on the edge of files to bind them, like the ones sent by omlet, but shorter, and glued a piece of plastic curtain rail on to it. We have put this on one edge of the inspection board and it has weighted it down a little so that the board no longer blows out. It also reduces the draft up through the mesh floor.
