Meganymoo Posted November 18, 2009 Share Posted November 18, 2009 Toast our Lavender Pekin Bantam laid her first egg yesterday and another one today.She is very clever so we are giving her lots of cheese and wheatabix. megghen Posted November 18, 2009 Share Posted November 18, 2009 hi meganymoo! congrats on your egg ive got 7 banties, only 1 is laying at the moment although the other 2 that do lay have stopped for the winter. the others show no sign of laying anything resmbling eggs - and my araucana is 36 weeks old and been squatting for 5 weeks! i am really fed up of waiting for her to pay for her keep!! it took me ages to persuade my husband to get the hens with a promise of never buying shop bought ones again - that's going really well NOT! what tupe of banties do you have? megghen Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

chickychick Posted July 11, 2010 Share Posted July 11, 2010 just picked up 3 ex commercial girls (Warrens) today and got first egg on the way home! Girls were in a big cat box, egg is a bit flat on one side but shell is firm. Is this because it was laid onto a tough flat plastic floor instead of some lovely bedding?
