Can I get gravel from the builders yard or does it have to be more special and is 10 mm too big if the chicks try to eat it? Would it be a good idea to mix the gravel with sand? Redwing Posted November 25, 2009 Share Posted November 25, 2009 Gravel is fine, make it a thick layer though As long as its bigger than grit you will be fine Its much better if the ground below is well drained, the less drainage there is the thicker the layer should be really Use boards to keep it in the run.
