It seems one of our hens might be a cockrell - she started cok adoodle dooing in the morning just before we open the door. She is also consideraly larger than the other three with a bigger plumage.

I read somewhere that females can impersonate - any advice??

We are very new to this having only attended one of claire's morning sessions in Oxford. :D:D

Do you have any pics?

 

If she has been hen like up to this point and laying eggs etc.. then she could be impersonating which as you say does happen

 

If she has never laid an egg etc.. I would say she could be a he

 

Where did they come from? most hybrid suppliers will only have girls for sale so you can be reassured , if they are pure breeds a mix up may have happened
