Hens in the vegetable garden

Recommended Posts

Yes, sounds very posh and very effective. We are thinking of taking our lot up to the veggie patch in a day or two to let them clear it up, but getting the cube up there is going to be a bit of an ordeal. It's a bit like climbing the Eiger :D I can just about get me up there let alone the cube and run. We'll give it a go though. Might take some photos - that will be amusing :D

Can you explain why my hens will not go over a 3ft high netting fence but will somehow get over one that is made of weldmesh with 15 inches of netting on top total height nearly 5ft. I just caught Queenie balancing on top prior to diving onto what used to be called my lawn. I give up!

No idea  the little minx.:lol::lol: Oh dear! you have to laugh.:lol:

Have you got nice weather Chicken Shirl It's a bit cold here!

It's nice today, but we have had terrible storms with strong winds and rain. Some places have been washed away down to the sea. :( The hens have stayed in the trees at night as always, and are fit and well (thank goodness) we were very worried about them and went out every few hours to check they were OK. They were all sitting there as if nothing was happening. 8)

Sorry to hear that you have snow again in the UK. It can only get better, Spring is just around the corner. :D xx

Oh that's awful. Thank goodness your chooks have the common sense to stay safe.

We haven't had snow here in Britanny for a couple of weeks now. It is just really wet and cold, though luckily not freezing.

We are about to put the hens on the veggie patch for a spring clean, so wish us luck. Will post later with how it went :D
