Blue-DiamondChick07
My girls combs are still very small. is it an age thing (they are 19 weeks) or is it due to the fact they are yet to lay? Also, when should I expect the first batch off eggs? ive had them a week. Lovely Hens, were going to be battery hens before I bought them. Egluntyne
They are still on the young side. In another few weeks the combs will start to develop and their faces redden. Then you will notice them crouching, and before long you will have eggs. Probably around the 26 week mark.
dippy bird
One of my ex bats has a tiny comb - do you think she is much younger than the others? I got them in October and her comb is still really small.I thought they were supposed to be about 12 months old when we got them? Sorry for jumping in on your thread
Egluntyne
No....she'll be the same age as the others as they are shipped in and shipped out again in batches.
