Bald Bottoms update

Recommended Posts

Two of my three girls Ash and Lucia have had bold bottoms for about six weeks the third Carmel who I suspect of doing the damage has lovely fluffy knickers. I have never seen her pluck her buddies and they seem a happy little flock when observed. I suspect it is happening in the chicken coop before they come out in the morning. I have sprayed anti pecking spray which appears to be effective provided it is reapplied regularly but the tarry smell worries me that it can't be good for them or us. When I used it feathers seemed to be regrowing. The bottle says to use disposable gloves when you use it, this worries me what so bad in ti that you have to . Its a two person job and OH not keen to participate. Wonder if a bumper bit for Carmel might sort her out or whether we need to let them out earlier in the morning they are currently let out into the run just as it is getting light.
