ladyjulian
One of mine is laying softies. I've read the Wisdom of Omlet on softies but I've got one more question - she's laying them attached to a 'real' egg. On Saturday the softie was draped over a normal egg but clearly they'd come out together / in quick succession. This morning, there were two burst softies with the membrane of one still stuck to a thin-shelled egg (I put my thumb through it). The 'normal' egg was fine, in fact as a general rule all of them lay armour-plated eggs. Is this just one of those things or should I be worried? None of them look unhappy, they're all perky and eating / drinking well.
chelsea
Is she new to laying? Sometimes at the beginning you can have a succession of softies and odd shaped eggs until their laying gear gets into the swing of things. Have never heard of one attached to a real egg though.... I would just keep an eye on her for the time being.
ladyjulian
She's been laying for about five weeks, so relatively new to it. I'll just keep an eye on her although she looks fine. It looks almost as if there's been a traffic jam of eggs!!
