BERTIE MCSQUIRTY
one of my girls has been under the weather for a couple of days, just standing in the corner of the run. a couple of days ago i found a soft shelled egg which i presumed was hers. there are no obvious signs of what is causing her to be like this other than the egg, i've had a good feel around her, no obvious obstruction of the ovum or crop, (i have massaged her crop). she is a little puffed up in her feathers however. i have had her in my arms this afternoon and given her a drink of water / olive oil and a pinch of poultry spice mix. i have also recently wormed her. on a preventative side i have dropped 3 drops of frontline on the back of the necks (i know its not licenced for poultry - but i spoke to the vet after reading info on the internet - and she said try it) after a previous and distressed attempt at the spray method. any other suggestions (she's 2 and a half years old)
chelsea
Sorry to hear she is unwell. She could be still recovering from the softie... or producing another one?... Have you checked over for lice? What wormer did you use?

BERTIE MCSQUIRTY
How strange.... Has she improved today Bertie? she seems quite content- if any improvement? and has just walked round the run, although she still is puffed up. i think i will take her inside for the night - just for monitoring and see how she is.
