Rock N Rose
Could anyone tell me if chicken poo is classed as a green (nitrogen) or brown (carbon) in the compost bin. Obviously it has a high nitrogen content but sometimes is often listed as a brown. confused dot com?????
Olly
If it's just poo, then I reckon counts as green. If it's mixed with aubiose or other bedding, then I count it as brown. That's not very scientific! sorry - but it has worked for me, produced fabulous compost.
Lavenders_Blue
Yep I reckon the poo counts as green and any bedding is brown. I tend to turn my heap from time to time, chuck in more poop/bedding if it looks too wet or get DH to 'water' it if too dry! My heap is very unscientific!
