Blue-DiamondChick07 Posted April 8, 2010 Share Posted April 8, 2010 Found out who wasn't laying yesterday, it was head Hen Billina, she finally laid about midday. I noticed that she kept going into the nest, sitting there for about 10 minutes and coming back out again without laying - thought she may be egg bound. Egg was finally laid, but I have noticed she keeps opening her beak like yawning, it is warm out here today! Eating is fine, and not noticed any other problems, is she poorly? jellykelly Posted April 8, 2010 Share Posted April 8, 2010 Gaping I think it's called. My hens sometimes do this. I think it can be a sign of gape worm. It could also be that they've eaten too much and having problems digesting (or whatever chickens do with their food!) Give her a bit and she'll stop doing it!
