joza2210
Hello , Well my dad has rang me today saying he is quite concerned about my polish cockerel... When my dad walks into the run (My WIR) my polish cockerel flys up and bites you... In other words he is attacking anyone who walks into the run ... He is living with his own hen , other hens and the chicks ... he does not show any aggression to any of the chickens except the odd time he chases the chicks around ... Is there anything i can do to calm him down ? And he was not like this when i got him ... Thanks

tom123
Grab him and pin him down to the floor. Show him who is boss and that you wont stand any nonsense. If he persists, carry him around with you and pet him a lot. Make him feel the bottom of the pecking order. I would advise that you separate the chicks from the cockerel. If he does get worse then he will kill them all in 5 mins. Your dad might miss it and not be able to stop him. That would be upsetting for everyone then.
