Atlhough my parents were going to come up every day and feed them - they ended up moving into my house (that's my parents not the ducks) and B&D have had VIP treatment! May even get another holiday sometime now! I have a couple of wee questions though. 1) We have been getting 2 eggs every day without fail until last week when we had only one on several occasions. Any idea why this might be? Could it be a problem? 2) Daffers has what looks like an infection in her eye. There seems to be a liquid in the corner of her eye but only sometimes - I have been checking it regularly since yesterday and sometimes it's there and sometimes its not. Was tempted to just leave well alone (she is as bright as usual) but wanted re-assurance. PS Isn't it great to have some nice weather. Sun is actually shining today and ducks are delighted! miller30 Posted April 11, 2010 Share Posted April 11, 2010 Hi jayjay my ducks sometimes miss a few days here and there with their egg laying sometimes its a relief as i get 8 eggs aday and you can imagine the back log if i dont sell some. If your duck is still bright and eating and drinking i would moniter her eye for now and give her clean water to dunk her head in i know thats not easy with ducks and hopefully it will right itself leanne. Can't imagine getting 8 eggs a day - it's hard enough to cope with 2! WildeWoman Posted April 17, 2010 Share Posted April 17, 2010 Mine always stop laying for quite some time when they are moulting, as their resources are all put towards the growing of new feathers; perhaps they are going to moult? Perhaps just keep an 'eye' on the eye (sorry for the pun!!) but if you do decide to take to the vet it is well worth in my experience finding a vet with experience of ducks as our 'Townie' vet didn't have a clue!
