Does anyone have any ideas how to get the ex batts to lay in the coop, the basic drop where they stop

They'll soon learn. I've still got one that lays anywhere occassionaly. I don't know whether it's because 'old habits die hard' or because the nest box was busy. The rest of the ex batts all queue for the nest box though. We've had them since january and it was only the first week that I was picking up eggs from all over the place.

We did have other chickens though, so they perhaps led by example.

Forgot to add - you could try placing dummy eggs in the nest box. It may give them the idea of where eggs should go!
