Miss Moneypenny
Hi, I'm a new eglu and hen owner, since Saturday in fact... I've a lovely Welsummer and three hybrids, and I'm worried about the Welsummer. She doesn't eat very much at all, has a couple of pellets and that's it. Yestaday she behaviored much like the others although she is far calmer and ladylike, today she seems listless and sleepy and has eaten nothing this morning. Drinking fine and I've put some poultry tonic in the water... Is it too early to separate her from the others? Should I try giving her some other food? Any tips much appreciated.... Thanks Miss Moneypenny X
Redwing
The tiredness could a result of a stressful move, hens dont like to change locations, keep an eye out for any worse symptoms and separate her if you are worried How old is she? if she isnt laying yet then she will eat very little
Miss Moneypenny
Hi, Thanks... Have discovered she eats worms quite happily, pecks at mixed corn, eats loads of grass but is completely disinterested in pellets and the feeder! She looks great and potters about so I guess I shouldn't be too worried. She laid and egg sunday (definately older than the others as she has a bright red comb), but I just don't understand how she can without getting all the food she needs... Think I'll try another feed? Am I worrying too much? I love this forum!
