daryl_h
hi there i recently did a topic about my egg that wouldnt hatch. ok i had to hatch the egg myself today with my girlfriend, it just wasnt hatchin and it had been 2 days. i was reading about a successful method about taking away the shell and leaving just the membrane, i did that and waited 12 hours, it still hadnt hatched threw so we followed the next step which was to cut the membrane for the chick we did that had it was livly as ever. The problem is, is that its toes were slightly curled and it was putting its toes out proply like ot flat on the ground and was triping over, i did the toe splint method and also the splint between the legs becuz i noticedits legs were quite far apart, my problem is, is that when it falls over it trys to getup but fails only sometimes it may get up and it is struggling to walk any sugestions on what may be the problem because i was thinking of removing the leg sprint to see if that help it walk because maybe my judgement was wrong about the legs being spayed. heres the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53CPDpM0JgM
Redwing
They dont look splayed. Good shoes they should help the toes Part of its struggle is because of the newspaper, its slippy for young chicks and the shoes will make it positively skate! An old tea towl as flooring, J cloths, dusters etc.. are the best flooring for very young chicks but if you can cope with the mess woodshavings are good too With a grippy floor under it the chick will fare better It lookd perky and happy enough though well done on getting it this far
daryl_h
thank you, but now i have discoverd that its left foot is actualy pointing inwards which is causing the struggle to walk. iv decided to take it to the vets tomorrow to see if there is anything that can be done for its leg
