motherchuck Posted May 20, 2010 Share Posted May 20, 2010 Blackie has laid a beautiful egg every day for 18 days. Today is her day of rest. This may not seem particularly exceptional, but she is 4 years old! She arrived with us on May 13th. 2006 as an 18wk. old pullet. No doubt she will start laying again tomorrow. What a star! motherchuck Posted May 21, 2010 Author Share Posted May 21, 2010 She is a 'Black Comet' whatever hybrid that is. She came from 'Garden Poultry' near Frrodsham (near Chester). She looks like Miss Pepperpot, mainly black with beautiful iridescent blue and green neck feathers when the sun is on her. She is a magnificent bird and true to form has laid anothther egg today!
