Advice needed - original chook refusing to roost in Eglu

Recommended Posts

Hi. On Saturday I took delivery of 2 new chooks as I only had 1 remaining chook, Betty. The chook supplier said that I shouldn't bother to integrate them slowly but just to put the new girls in with Betty (as I would only be delaying the envitable of them s"Ooops, word censored!"ping for a bit and being able to see each other and not get to each other would cause more friction etc) which is what I've done (never had to introduce new chooks before). I now understand that this was wrong!

Betty has chased the new girls around and pecked at them a little but generally things haven't been too bad. My problem is at night time. The new girls will happily go into the Eglu to roost but Betty wont. She just sits on top of the Eglu run (which is inside a bigger run which we have built). We have to physically put her into the Eglu. When we did this tonight she pecked the new chooks and also my partner. How can I get her to start going in the Eglu again at night? She is still laying eggs in the nesting box in the morning.
