Chicken boarders

I have only had my hens two days and I think one of them might be close to laying When I bought all their food etc from the shop I noticed some 'Egg wash'. I didnt think that you needed to wash eggs and wasnt planning to but I have been wondering whether I should be. I just wondered what was the normal thing to do.

I just wipe them with damp kitchen paper. If they are very dirty, I s"Ooops, word censored!"e the worst bit off and then quickly dip them in hot water, clean them, and dry them immediately.
