Have I put feeders/drinkers in bad positions???.. ( is it normal to have to crawl in to refill ?? Is the plastic cover I have put over the top , a good idea or bad idea ? Should it be postioned more to one side ? will they be too hot ?? Any opinions and advice will be gratefully received Greg
mole
hurrah another cube owner! exciting isnt it?! with regards to ur feeders and drinkers id put the feeders next to each other on about the tenth rung up, just means only one place for food to fall if they make a mess and they will be able to reach it easily. id say the supaglug was too high and needs to be placed about half way up the side otherwise they have to really reach for it and wont be able to push the nipple in with their beaks and get the water out. hope im being helpful

grb944
Thank you Mole I'll do as you said with the feeders/drinkers Is it ok to have the tarpaulin over the run ?
jess1merlin
I've got a tarp covering my run which goes right to the floor on both sides, it does help to keep the aubiose dry on the run floor. If its going to be a hot day, I either pull it back or take it off completely as it does tend to make it rather like a greenhouse, my tarp is clear not sure if that makes a difference with regard to the temperature. chuckmum6
It looks good to me, I would suggest you watch you chickens when they come and any problems will become apparent then. I put my grubs and glugs near the door so you can reach in and get them. You can top the glugs up with a watering can. Tarps are great especially clear ones as you can see you chooks! Try 'Tarpaflex' they are good, as you can see they do cover the whole run even when it is a cube train like mine!
