Guest
Right so today I went to our breeders place. To collect some ducks but we were talking while looking at the ducks and I realised it just isnt the right time. But he did give me 3 possibly fertile duck eggs just to see. I also got two 6 week old pekin girls that are absolutely tiny and so cute. I am picking up their sisters in a weeks time. They will live in the shed for 6-8 weeks but will get to come out for 30 mins when the others are running around the garden. There so diddy it is sooooo cute. I named them but my Lavenders name isnt original lol. I am going to call my black pekin when i get her queen latifa lol and the silver partridge silver. The light silver partridge pekin hen is called Genie because she is a genetic throw back. Edited June 13, 2010 by Guest

Guest
We will have pictures up tomorrow Mollie. I just got my macbook pro friday so i am still trying to set it all up to get pictures onto it lol. Oh btw everyone. The place i go to is going to become a rare breeds centre and should be opening 2011. Not sure though. And I saw today that a barnevelder cock accidently mated with a silver laced orpington and they didnt realise so i cant wait to see what that turns out like and they have randomly somehow got 4 columbian pekins even though the chicks should be lavender. So its all fun fun fun

Guest
Well I knew Bob was going to go broody. Betty and Bob just can't be away from each other. So Bob and betty were sitting on the 3 eggs today so when I put them out this evening I put 1 egg in one box and 2 in the other. Bob tried to sit on 2 duck eggs but she is a small Light sussex bantam she couldn't fit over them, so I put 2 under Betty. But i have never seen them so happy since they have had eggs under them and it has only been a day or so. They even let the Marsh Daisy's sleep in with them. If the eggs are fertile (now I am hoping for 2 fertile) I will be putting a seperation up in the shed so the Daisy's can go in there. I know they should be by themselves already but the breeder said they would be ok because Bob and betty are an old married couple they have been through so much together they get depressed away from each other.
