craftyhunnypie
Our Maggie May is getting on a bit - she one of the old girlies - a black rock. She has retired from laying since last year & is very chirpy & bright in herself. However she is really quite bald. She is not being plucked & there are no lice or mites present - plus we take every precaution to prevent this. She is always powdered etc. But she looks quite ' oven ready' & her feathers never grow back - even her head is bald. A naked neck has more feathers than her. Could she have a balding disease or be a self plucker. Would wearing a saddle help her at all - or is there something else we could do for her. We have tried more protein, Poultry spice, tonic etc, to no avail. Poor thing looks a right sorry state - a if we don't care - but we really do. Poor Maggie May.
