sarahs chucks
hi im hoping someone can help me i have 8 girls and recently discovered mites, so mite powdered them gave house a good clean and sprayed mite killer in there, 7 of my girls are still acting very normal almost as if not affected although mites were seen on all of them. But Daniel seems to have gone down hill very quickly her face and comb are a very pale pink and her comb has fallen to the side , she is drinking loads but not eating very much, she is very light to lift and each night we are lifting her on to the perch as she can't jump up (never had probs before its only 8 inches off the floor). There are no bald patches on her and she seems to sleep alot . Sorry this is going on and on only we want whats best for her so any suggestions on what might be wrong with her or the best stuff to use to treat mite would be gratefully recieved as this is our first lot of chickens and this is something new that we learning about. Thank you all you chicken lovers
Chucky Mama
Is there any evidence of mites at all now? When were they last wormed (with Flubenvet)?

Chucky Mama
The combination of mites and worms (you have to assume that they have them if they haven't been done for that long) may well be too much for her. Of course it could be something else entirely so do bear that in mind. I would endevour to get your mite issue under control and dose them for worms with Flubenvet. The flock may well be slightly anaemic so a good diet and possibly a decent supplement will be of great benefit to them

sarahs chucks
hi have mites under control and have wormed them and actually learned how to clip wing and for the first time free ranged them in the garden last night. Daniel had picked up a little and had a little mooch round the garden and seemed to be on the mend but unfortunately went to let girls out this morning and daniel had sadly died during the night . The others are still full of beans and trying to get out now they have the taste for freedom. Thank you for all your advice really appreciated it and once again this site has been fantastic
