siamang2
Hi all, After some advice. I'm having problems with my girls and their egg production. All 3 are hybrids aged approx 22 months. They seemed to go through a funny laying phase a month or so ago resulting in very large eggs 120g with very runny white, and lots of softies. I started giving them crushed egg shells, grit and a mineral powder and it seems to have cured one of them (not sure which) as I am back to getting one nice egg per day, however the other two are still very sporadic. Sometimes one more nice egg per day, but mostly softies or nothing at all. To top it all off they have decided not to lay inside their eglu anymore. Any ideas of what else I can try to firstly get them laying properly, and secondly back in their house! Thanks very exasparated hen owner
Chucky Mama
I would try the following: Reduce free ranging (if they are) to encourage greater intake of pellets Cut out all treats Use 1 calcium type supplement only and do not overdose Worm with Flubenvet if not wormed within the last 3-4 months Check the Eglu for red mite
