...to put cotton pads or folded squares of kitchen roll in the incubator to stop them rolling about?

 

I've gone from 12 eggs to 5 and I'm worried about them moving too much...it can be a bit fiddly to set them down without them rolling and nearly colliding..and now there's more space, if they start rocking, they'll start rolling as the incy doesn't have any 'sections' or grooves, it's just a plastic 'mesh' (it's a Covina 12 incy http://www.flytesofancy.co.uk/chickenhouses/Chicktec_Vision_12_Incubator.html) but obviously I don't want to interfere with the humidy or temp etc... or would it be better to use something plastic??

I use kitchen roll in my inccy

 

You can also use sections of egg box cut down to make a little plinth, place the eggs on their side on top of it

For anyone else reading this - egg box plinths should not be used in fan assisted inccys - this case its ok as the inccy is still air
