Couperwife
ooooh, what a great idea for an article im not a parent, but ive got some ideas (is this ok? ) what about: making cakes and biscuits, etc rather than buying them? you lose the "airmiles" and you know exactly what is in them. also no packaging turn the heating down and give the child their own (home made?) blanket to snuggle on the settee or in bed? (I got my nephews fleecy blankets for christmas one year - something like Ben10 and the simpsons, they went down a storm and we used to find a little body wrapped up in a blanket asleep in random places as veggie patch in the back garden? CHICKENS!!!!!!!!!!!! is this the sort of ideas you were after? (can we read the article when you have finished it ) cathy x
chickweed
Here's a couple of suggestions which you have probably thought of: Look for good second hand clothes and toys locally. Charity shops sell loads of hardly used children's books, toys etc. You would be saving money, helping a charity and avoiding waste. Donate your unwanted stuff to charity, or maybe sell it at a car boot sale.
