beach chick
help!!! WIR starts being built shortly, and although I can move the cube and 2 eglus easily, the grass has grown up through the eglu run skirts and they are virtually immoveable. I need 2 eglu runs inside the WIR for the quail and the bunnies... any ideas on how I can detach the skirts from the grass? they are completely fixed in to the roots of the grass, and I'm scared to damage them - I've tried lifting, but they don't shift and I think they might bend/break. my only thought was to cut the grass very short, and then weedkill, but slightly reluctant because of the quail and bunnies inside. any other ideas anyone??? Heidi-Hi
Hi, From what I can see from pictures, the skirt bit doesn't seem too wide. Maybe if you got a sharp kitchen / bread knife, you could 'scalp' the grass from the inside of the run (and from the outside) - I don't know if I'm explaining it very well, but try and cut the grass with a sharp knife from underneath. You will have strange oblong squares on your lawn when your done though I would try that before weed and kill Good luck!
