bennett
My chicks are now 5 weeks old. They are in an eglu and run which is set up next to the fence of my WIR, where my other 4 girls are in a cube. So they all see each other and i have let them all free range together for a bit while i am at home. The broody is quite happy for the girls to come into the eglu run while the chicks are there and is happy to have the chicks and her friends to eat together. The broody has chucked a bit of a mental at one of my dutch banties but to be honest the dutch is a bully! So the dutch keeps well clear of her. Can i now move the eglu and the run into the WIR??? . It seems silly to have them stuck next to each other for another 4 weeks when they are pratically together anyway? (also it is taking up alot of my garden!) Obviously the chicks and broody would spend most of the day in the eglu run, just letting them out for an hour into the WIR with the others. What shall i do?????? lotz2612
Yer I'd move them in. If they seem fine together there shouldnt be any need to be overly cautious.
