Dilly beans

Anyone made these before / are they nice? made a jar today according to Alys Fowler's recipe on Gardeners World - worried myself looking at another recipe from the US that said if you aren't careful with the preserving then you can get botulism from them... the viniger is diluted 1/3 with water and it is heated with salt before being poured over the beans...am I being paranoid? :lol:
