bridgy chooks
Just after a bit of lice advice if you don't mind! I have looked at the pinned topic above but just wondering what type my chooks have. Spotted some nasty critters on one of my girls tonight and then checked the other 2 and they all have them I feel really bad about it, I check them regularly and have never had them before to my knowledge Anyway, I don't know what they are - they are small, move fairly quickly and are grey in colour (most seem to be reddy brown when you google them). Hoping they aren't NFM as these look to be the worst type. Can anyone confirm what mine might have please? I can probably put a photo up tomorrow if I can manage to get one! Have hosed the eglu and put powder everywhere and sprayed the girls all tonight so that's a start. Thanks
Egluntyne
They sound like bog standard lice. Have a look at the feathers around the vent. If there are clusters of tiny eggs cemented to the base of the feathers, that will clinch it. Treatment as recommended **here**.
