Kittycat Posted September 2, 2010 Share Posted September 2, 2010 Hi all We're about to move house and have just found out that a badger is a regular visitor to the garden. Does anyone know to what extent badgers are interested in chickens? I assume they would be partial to any chicken food lying about and perhaps eggs, but would they be interested in trying to eat the chickens themselves? There was no food or eggs in there, just the chooks, so I can only assume it wanted to eat my girls Very strong creature it was too, nearly upended the great wooden thing! Chucky Mama Posted September 2, 2010 Share Posted September 2, 2010 A few summers ago when it was very dry a badger dug into a friends coop and killed all of her chickens She thinks it was because the grounds was too hard for the badger to dig and find food. Jewels Posted September 3, 2010 Share Posted September 3, 2010 Hi,we have badgers all around us and they are regular visitors to our garden at night and we watch them from our darkened dining room windows and they have never, ever shown any interest in our hen house (a Cube).
