successful integration!

despite being terrified of the whole thing, integration went off a treat. okay, i don't think they'll ever be one flock and will stay the 2 OldGirls and the 3 NewGirls but there seems to be minimum pecking and panicking and they now all pile in to sleep together in the nesting box (the new girls were roosting in their first home but they seem to think the nesting box is much cosier idea - except Trumpet who i think it a bit slow on the uptake).

 

AND i think the presence of the new girls may have kickstarted the old girls into laying again as yesterday I had FOUR eggs! a record!

 

so, anyway, thanks for all the great advice and support and good luck to anyone else merging flocks. x
