Smart Feeder - Light sensor values

Now the bunnies are re introduced and happy again I've decided to start worming them today. The vet assured me this would be easy as bunnies liked the taste. Well tried this morning and mine don't like the taste!!

 

Does anyone have any suggestions as obviously I need to persist with this as they need to take it for 28 days.

Best way I have found to give a bunny any meds (when they dont want to take it), is to wrap him/her in a towel nice and secure, and then can syinge into their mouth. Sometimes its the only way to do it. xx

Which wormer are you using?

having just got over their ops and now they are re introduced, really don't want to have to upset them too much and didn't really want to have to handle them unnecessarily. Can I put it in any food?

 

They have got Panacur.

mine don't like either.

I get the paste all meassured and ready with cap off, Hold the rabbit on the floor (never on a table), kneel down and have the rabbit in between your legs (keep your feet together so they can't wriggle backwards) tilt rabbits head to one side inject paste into corner of their mouth as quick as possible.

Reward with their fav treat, let go and count how many back leg flicks you get.

The quicker you can do it the better for bunny.

Have been reading some other advice and forums and people are suggesting putting it in a bit of wheetabix, is that Ok for bunnies?, or inside some lettuce and roll it up or something.

 

As re introduction has gone so well, I really don't want to upset the apple cart at the mo and stress them out too much.

I'm suprised they have advised lettuce(iceberg) as it's not good for bunnies!

Will you be able to sit with a rabbit one by one until they have eaten it?

I wouldn't use Iceberg as I know that's not good for bunnies and yes I would hand feed it to them individually. What do you think to the wheetabix idea?

The paste could be spread on it but it's a little crumbley. Brown bread isn't too bad you could spread it like butter .

Thanks for your input, I'm willing to try anything that is OK for bunnies, as long as it doesn't stress them out and me for that matter. It is so lovely to see them back to themselves after their ops and they are such lovely bunnies and getting on so well again.

I have to admit that I actually gave up with panacur because it was such a faff and ours are not the cuddliest of creatures ... they are due a check-up in due course and I will ask again then, along with getting them both spayed.

This is panacur liquid and today they did eat it on wheetabix, but after a while. I have read so many different stories and some people don't even bother worming their bunnies, will keep trying though. They don't like being handled although loved cuddles and kisses. Fudge is a lovely bunny and Nessa, after being spayed is getting there too, bless her.

I now have the paste administering down to a fine art, No stress and takes me a couple of seconds.

Mine too, mines the liquid and I'm putting it into a very small amount of lettuce and folding it up and they take the whole lot each, hope it lasts like this for 28 days!!! They are so happy at the moment too.
