jenjins1
One of my hens started laying eggs which were pimply at the base of them and now it appears that all five are doing this too. Does anyone have an idea what this could be? Their diet has not changed. Its mainly the base of the egg and sometimes its the whole egg. You can even flick the circled pimples off sometimes as they are always in clusters. Thanks....
Steve the Gas
How old are the birds? Some oddities occur anyway, but if coming to end of lay/ex-bat - normally more. Eggs can get interupted in the making process and more calcium is deposited. Are the shells nice and thick/normal?
jenjins1
Hi 3 of them are 2 years old, the other two are 18 months. I noticed the first egg like this from one of the older ones and now even the younger ones have it. The first egg i noticed it from isn't as thick shelled as normal. The others' shells are ok just all seem to have the pimples now. Just thought it odd how one started and now they all seem to be. I can almost tell who lays what egg so i have almost a sure idea of who is laying the eggs. Thinks that sounds a bit crazy!!! Thanks.... beach chick
for some reason, I read the headline as PIMPED eggs, and had visions that you were adding gold trim, or fancy exhaust pipes or something!! as in pimp my ride...
