Ms Marple - how is your WIR coming along?

Recommended Posts

Ha ha!!! Funny you should mention that. The trouble with our household is that there are always at least 10 jobs on the go at once!! The WIR has not progressed that much beyond the last pics sadly. Believe it or not it was scheduled in for the second week of halfterm( I get two weeks) after our diving holiday in Egypt...........BUT on the last day of said holiday OH managed to break his ankle. :(

He was full of hope that yesterday at the fracture clinic they would give him a weightbearing plastercast- sadly no. A new blue, non weight bearing cast with strict instructions to keep it raised for the next 5 weeks. He is not a happy bunny as he is truly rubbish at sitting still. To make matters worse he decommissioned both downstairs loos as part of the house renovation plans and so now has to keep going upstairs on his hands and knees to go to the loo. Too much info I know

Trying to be positive- it was the quickest that I have ever got through check- in etc both in Egypt and back at Manchester (where they had managed to arrange 10 planes to land practically simlutaneously and cause absolute chaos!!) It was like being a celeb, wheeled to front of queue etc.

Quick update... went to check where I left it photo-wise and I realised thast we have progressed a bit further as it does now have a roof and another eglu too. Having said htat they are all ignoring the elgu and going in the cube apart form the day I wahsed it a couple of weeks back and proved by accident that 14 BIG girls can fit in an eglu. :eh: I will get out there this weekend and take a couple of photos to update further.

omigod, you poor things, what a complete nightmare! please tell Mr. M I sympathise - I broke my tibia, an ankle bone and cracked another one falling over in the chicken run Jan just gone. ended up with surgery etc. 4 days in hossie; came home on crutches; 6 weeks in a cast. but it does get better, I was driving after 8 weeks, walking the dog properly after 10 and now it is pretty much normal, totally weightbearing. still swollen, but I was told that would take 12-18 months to sort itself out. I think you're miles away from us, else I'd offer Mr. M a loan of my wheelchair (which we bought so I could get around while OH was at work/kids at school and I could wheel myself into home office to work).

Chicken run and house renovation come pretty low on the priorities when this kind of thing happens dont they?
