thebdj
Hi, I have no doubt there have been a million threads on this topic so apologies for asking again! I bought 4 Indian Runner Ducks from a reputable local breeder when they were about 2 weeks old. She had sexed all 12 of her little ones and was confident on the gender of all of them. I decided to take 3 girls and 1 boy. The ducks are now 20 weeks and all I have to go in is the original understanding that I have 3 girls and 1 boy. To me however they all look like boys and this is emphasised by the fact they all have curly feathers on their tales (an apparent usual sign of drakes!). Having said that, the 3 that are meant to be girls are ridiculously vocal and the boy doesn't make a great deal of noise (which from what I hear ties in perfectly with their sexing). So what on earth have I got? I can get pictures which would no doubt help you but a general 'what to look for' would probably help me I did also wonder if the curly tails was just a symptom of the fact it has been rather wet recently and I know how much family members of mine moan about their hair going curly in the rain (including the boys!) Any help appreciated. Cheers Justin
Lesley
The curly tail feathers are usually very distinctive - the quacking is a bit less so. Post some photos and let us have a look..........
