docsquid
I had three banties in August, and two of them (the silver laced wyandotte and lavender pekin) have been laying for a few weeks now. However Glwadys (frizzle silkie), who was the youngest of the three, hadn't laid. She has been going into the nest box for a couple of weeks, but with no real result. She isn't the brightest of chooks, although she is lovely and cuddly and friendly, and I was beginning to despair that she would ever get the hang of it, as she is approaching 30 weeks of age. However today she laid her first egg! I know it was her because I am introducing two new hens, and had to shut the WIR door to stop them escaping. So Gwladys was the only one in there! Well done little Gwladys!
