tracyann
I have four hybrid hens - a Bluebelle, Bovan Nera, Speckeldy and a Magpie. They are 17 weeks old on today and was wondering when I should expect the first egg? The Bluebelle's wattles are bright red and hanging down, I've read that is a sign they are starting to get ready to lay. What signs should I be looking for? chickencam
They will probably come into lay in the next few weeks. If their combs are grown and red and they crouch if you approach them suddenly they are coming ino lay. I think that the average age is 20-22 weeks for hybrids.
