Chortle Chook
Did any Omleteers go to the Reading Banty show near Newbury? It was the first chook show I've ever been to and I was totally overwhelmed. I hadn't realised that it would be quite so loud, but of course all those glam cockerels were giving voice to outdo one another I think, but could be wrong, that I spied that very beautiful Wyandotte called Tarzan owned by Tasha. Right Redwing? He was up there on the main stand with all the top winners and a big red card Claret, I am sorry I didn't see you. I asked around but failed totally to find you. Did I come away with additional chooks? You bet I did. Just as we were leaving OH relented and said I could put a small box in the car. I grabbed the biggest box I could lay my hands on and came away with two, to me, really pretty blue laced Wyandotttes. I know they won't win any prizes, Redwing, but they are calm, friendly and have nice clean feathers and beady eyes so seem lovely and healthy. What's more they have fitted in with my others with no fuss at all. I feel so lucky. :D One thing that puzzles me is why my Wyandottes are called 'blue laced' when to me they look brown and white.
