AJuff
Two local beekeepers came into talk to my Reception class this week. It was all very interesting. When one of the children asked how the drone boys were killed in the winter he told us that reports were in acroost he north east that for some reason this year many hives had not expelled their drones! Aren't bees interesting?
Olly
Fascinating! The more I learn about bees the more amazing they seem (and the more I realise I still don't know!). A lot of people seem to find them interesting, I am often asked detailed questions at work about them.
Old Speckled Hen
Fascinating! The more I learn about bees the more amazing they seem (and the more I realise I still don't know!). And I never will...I'll run out of time I did spot the odd drone flying out of one hive as late as February but not since. I think some colonies will overwinter the odd drone but more than a few might indicate queen failure of some kind
