Hmmm, I'm no vet but I can't understand why they didn't give Tylan in the first place - it's an excellent antib and brachyspira is nasty enough to warrant it. Hopefully it ought to knock it on the head now.

Oh I do hope so... It's been a very dispiriting experience over the past couple of months!

Denegard is the drug that is normally given but most vets do not stock it and it is something like £65 for a litre.

Retfords send it out on 100 ml bottles (for 6 to 8 chooks) at not huge cost.

I beleive Tylan is the next best thing.

I think when dosing in the water it is hard to be sure how much is drunk and the with the Dehegard they do not like the taste and drink less or in some cases none!!!

I added fruit juice to help. but still had 2 that would not drink it!
